The internet of things isn’t living up to its hype.
The IoT was supposed to be the means by which every conceivable machine, product and device could be connected. It would usher in an era of total visibility and communications. On the business side, it was to prove especially critical for managing supply chains. But according to a recent survey by Microsoft, nearly 30% of all enterprise IoT projects fail at the proof-of-concept stage. So what’s going wrong? On this episode, we get clarification from Daniel Elizalde, vice president and head of IoT with Ericsson North America. He explains why the IoT hasn’t fully delivered on its promise, how companies should be approaching the technology today, and how they can proceed beyond the hype to achieve true success is a world of connected devices. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
